Edward McKay Civil Engineering Contractors based in Brora wanted a large capacity concrete batching plant which they could tow to remote sites.

The plant, designed & built by John Hope Engineering Ltd is shown here during the construction of a Windfarm in the remote Scottish Highlands where traditional methods of concrete delivery would have made the project uneconomic.

Self Contained Mobile Concrete Batching Plant:

The plant was designed in our Annan office and was built in our fully fitted engineering workshop at nearby Circa.

After being towed to even the most inhospitable sites, the plant can be available for use within a few hours.

Please contact us for further details of concrete batching plant, our aim is always to give our clients first-class workmanship at an acceptable cost.

The plant was designed and built by John Hope Engineering Ltd has been designed to be coupled to the fifth wheel of an Arctic.

The plant can be de-rigged and moved to an alternative location in hours and is completely self-contained.

  • Braking System for road use
  • Lighting for road use
  • Integral Hydraulic System
  • Computerized batch controller
  • Weighing system for aggregates & cement
  • Integral pumps & water system

The plant is ideal for construction in remote locations which would otherwise be cost-prohibitive and would also be ideal for roadway & civil work.

The plant can prepare a six cube dry mix in approximately 15 minutes which is available for dry delivery directly into mixer trucks.

The images on the left show the construction of the plant in our extensive workshops at Circa, near Annan, the finished plant being towed to site and then set up in a remote location.
